CCB/PPC Unauthorized Credit Inqury

I also have this on my credit report…

CCB/PPC did a hard credit inquiry on January 4, 2016…I never gave them permission to do so, nor have I ever applied for a PAY PAL credit card! This unauthorized hard credit inquiry resulted in my score to be lowered! How do I get this removed off my Equifax Report? It seems to me that it is illegal to check people’s credit without their permission/knowledge. Can anyone tell me how to have this removed?

CCB/PPC Unauthorized Hard Inquiry

Paypal gave me 2 hard inquiry

I been having an account with paypal since 2013 and on dec 2,2016 and jan 6,2017 they ran my score again without my permission! My score went down 25 points! Wth im trying to fix my credit and their f**king me over im trying to contact them and nothing this needs to stop . I have never ever had this problem with anyother credit place and comes out their linked with capital one man way to go PAYPAL YOU GUYS ARE GARBAGE NOW!

Unauthorized credit by CCB/PPC

Going through my credit history, I seen an inquiry from CCB/PPC on 9-18-15, in which I didn’t recognize, Iso I researched and learned it was pay pal. I do have an active account with PayPal and have had for several years, but I’ve never filed for credit with them. I’m extremely concerned because of all the talk about identity theft. After reading several if the complaints above, I’m a little relieved to see its not some sort of identity theft, but I am strongly concerned about pay pal going this on their own WITHOUT my permission should I close my account that I’ve had with em? Do they it won’t happen again and can I get them to retract that inquiry or give me an acceptable explanation for the invasion

Unauthorized Hard Inquiry

I just received notice of a hard inquiry that was done through PayPal!! I definitely did not authorize any such activity and haven’t even used my PayPal account in some time! My fiancee and I are trying to buy a house and I need this unauthorized information changed as soon as possible!!

PayPal issuing credit cards without consent

I opened a PayPal account about six months ago to accept online payments for a rental property I own.

Used it two times and stopped as the merchant fees were not worth the convenience charges.

 

Six months later I get credit card I the mail that I did not order.

No able to revisit the terms and privacy conditions from when I first setup this account.

I can’t tell if PayPal considers this an offer from a valid third party partner.

 

What is opalling to me is to how they can pull credit report when I have a credit freeze on all the major reporting

services. We do not need, nor did we ask for this card. Not to mention it pulls down my excellent fico credit score of 824.

 

This has to be stopped. ASAP and action against PayPal taken in excess of what they made selling off our credit.

 

Add yourself to this chain as I smell a class action suit in the works.

Unauthorized Hard Inquiry and Opening of PayPal Credit Card

A hard inquiry from CCB/PPC was reported to my credit report for a PayPal credit card. I never authorized PayPal to pull my credit for a PayPal credit card! This hard pull resulted in an 8 (eight) point reduction in my credit score. This is sneaky deceitful fraudulent business practices on PayPal’s part. HARD PULL

I had my old card for 10 years. I as about to get a loan, then I noticed my approval for my loan ws like 23%, I went to see my credit report to find not only did you do a hard hit, you erased my entire history from my old card. I am asking for my history to be put back up. I am asking for the Hard Pull to be erased. You did not ask me first, you just did it without my authorization.

PayPal strikes again when I called to inform them I wanted my account closed not only because I didn’t even use it but because they are partners with other companies skrill is one of them and they got a hold of my debit card info and started charging all kinds of things trips and whatever else over 40 changes tried thank goodness for my bank they caught all but two of them when I informed PayPal they were like what do you think we are going to do about it I was like really close the account now now they screw with my credit score not right

Fraud

My credit was stolen by pay pal and actually a credit card was successfully opened. I contacted paypal and cancelled the card. I called them and advised I wanted all the hard inquires removed and they said they would research and see if they were actually fraud related. About 2 months later I received a letter stating they had contacted all three credit reporting agencies to remove all hard inquires under my name, but there letter was addressed to my first name and a wrong last name.

 

I am thinking that all this fraudulent activity is done by them.

 

I also had a fraud alert on my paypal account but looking at my report this morning, guess what? ANOTHER HARD INQUIRY. I am going to see if there is a class action lawsuit suit going on.

PAYPAL (CCB/PPC credit)

PAYPAL has long been known for unscrupulous banking practices. This “PAYPAL Credit” is just another in that grey, questionable banking methods they employ. I bought some concert tickets and was going to pay for them with my PAYPAL account. I had a choice of entering a credit card or PAYPAL. I checked PAYPAL and they asked the last 4 of my SS# and my address. I entered that and it said APPROVED. I checked CONTINUE and the screen closed and I got an email that I had been approved for $2000 in PAYPAL CREDIT. I did not want a credit account with PAYPAL. It was never offered or explained. Then, the email did not have a link to Paypal or for questions. It only had an I ACCEPT link. I went into my PAYPAL account and found a customer service number. I called and explained and they said I had an account and the first payment had gone out. I recalled the ticket purchase and then PAYPAL said I owed them $.48 in interest. I closed my PAYPAL account. Unfair and underhanded banking practices. Should be shut down.

CCB/PPC aka PayPal made an unauthorized hard inquiry into my credit score resulting in my Good score of 715 down to Fair score of 675. They did not have my permission to do a credit check on me and I request my credit score be restored back to 715.

I had a hard inquiry on my Equifax credit report on June 13 which lowered my Good score of 715 down to 675. I never received credit from PayPal and I am disputing this inquiry. Please help me to remove this PayPal inquiry and restore my score back to 715. I am very upset.

unauthorized credit inquiry

I also have an inquiry showing on my credit report from CCB/Ppc dated 5/10/16. I have never applied for a credit card with them and I don’t show that an account has actually been opened (yet), but these inquiries do not help my credit score! I am very upset about this and assume with all the complaints you’ve received this will be resolved. If not, I think you are looking at a Class Action Lawsuit! As far as I can tell, this is not legal! I am pursuing this matter myself as far as I can before legal action happens…..

PayPal ran an unauthorized credit inquiry and gave me $2,000 line of credit

I do not understand how PayPal can run a credit inquiry and open a line of credit – without my authorization. Apparently this happened as I signed up for Skype Business (because I was asked to join a work conference call using Skype for Business and was sent a sign up link). Skype kept telling me I did not have any credit – so I agreed to a $20 credit and used PayPal to pay. I’ve used PayPal before , but it always charges to one of my credit cards. Apparently this opened the door for PayPal to run a credit check (hard hit) and open a $2,000 line of credit!!!! I’m just about to close on a home – and this is really messing things up. This should be illegal.

Unauthorized Hard Inquiry

I’m actively working on increasing my credit scores, I have a law firm removing old negative accounts, I’ve paid off numerous credit cards and left the accounts open with a zero balance, and I have credit monitoring. We’re going to try to buy a house in the next few years. However, looking at ONLY my Equifax credit report I have 5, count them, 5 hard inquiries showing up on my credit report since the beginning of 2016. I applied for PayPal credit in 2015 and was denied, and now it seems that they are continuing to put hard pulls on my Equifax report almost every month. I’ve made purchases using PayPal, but have used other credit or debit cards, NOT PayPal credit, and I’m getting hard pulls every month. They’re ruining all the work I’ve been doing to improve both my and my husband’s credit scores. WTH??? I found a form that I can send to dispute the pulls, but I have to fill one out for each pull, and the latest one was for this month. I’m more than seriously considering closing my PayPal account, which I’ve had for years. Until recently I haven’t watched really closely, but there’s no telling how long this has been going on.

Unauthorized CCB PPL

When I signed up for PayPal it was for eBay purchases. The account was set up to include my card information so that I could use PayPal for different vendors rather than enter my card information for every purchase. It’s convenient but there’s a problem. I never applied for a PayPal credit card and they told the credit bureau I did. I disputed the hard inquiry and the response was that the CCB PPL is valid so it wasn’t removed from my credit report. Am I supposed to keep disputing the same thing? How do I get this unauthorized hard inquiry off my credit report?

PayPal scrwed mu credit score up

So I am reading your guys story , and it is the same as mine. I ordered something and I only could pay with Paypal. I also accept the terms and condition , and bam even with my bank card attached to it I suddenly had a credit for over $2000. I did not ask for it , it just was there. No option if you wanted that credit . So today I checked my account and I see 58 points down … really?? I emailed Paypal , but I guess I have to call them as well , I also will put a complained in with BBB as well … This is crazy , I wished Credit Karma would check first with us before they allow anybody to run a credit check on you …. Has anybody luck to get it removed from the account?? and what did you do?

with all these complaints – pay pal isn’t helping us with these unauthorized hard hits on our credit reports? They’ll soon be loosing our accounts -I’ll never take the easy way – paying with pay Pal.

My score has dropped over 70 points. I’m retired and on my social security. I was trying to move into a retirement area BUT PAY PAL

has screwed my credit I have to wait until my score comes up before I can reapply for a housing loan.

This really hurts the hard working, honest people.

Unauthorized hard credit inquiry

There are so many people here with the same problem of hard credit checks done by PPC/CCB as a result of fraud. I’ve going through severe identity theft this last year and these inquiries are the last thing I need to remove from my credit. Has anyone had success with PayPal taking off inquiries? Their customer service reps are clueless when it comes to this, and they are useless in giving you to the right person. I would like a phone number and a name of the person with whom I should speak.

CCB/PPC Credit Pull

In August 2015 we received notice that a PayPal account had been opened for my husband with a certain amount to spend available. We immediately notified them that we did apply for such credit and wanted it closed immediately. We have never used PayPal credit. Our only interaction with PayPal has been using other credit cards on sites where PayPal is the method on online payment. Now in Novermber 2015, when applying for mortgage this pull on our credit has a negative impact on our credit score. This type of actions by PayPal need to be stopped and reparations to credit made to victims of the unauthorized credit pull.

When I checked my Equifax credit report, it says I have two hard checks, both in close time frames, a couple days to be exact. It is CCB/PPC. CCb/PPC did an unauthorized Hard Core Credit Check on me without my Permission and lowered my Trans Union Credit Score by 99 points and my Equifax Score by 106 points on July 18th 2015. This was not due to a Paypal but a Lane Bryant account. I had made a Payment on my wife’s credit card to Lane Bryant and CCb/PPC ran a Hard Core Credit Check on me. The money was in my PNC Bank account and my Bank paid the bill. This company had no Damn business running a Credit Check on me. I was making a credit card payment not applying for a Credit Card! I am going to get these People to repair my Credit or I will get a Lawyer and file a Law suit against them for wrecking my credit!

Paypal unauthorized access

I have had an unauthorized hard pull by Paypal as well. I saw CCB/PPC on my credit file and looked it up to determine it was Paypal. I’ve used Paypal for 4 years. Somehow they are claiming I applied for credit on this last use of my account. I have no idea of how they are justifying this. I did not fill out an application, I did not give them my SSN.

 

I’ve disputed this on Equifax and they are claiming it is legit. The only thing I know to do is to go back to ask for evidence. I have now officially cut off from Paypal completely.

PayPal Hard Inquiry by deceptive means

I have been purchasing through PayPal for many years. Recently there was some misleading statement regarding my purchase which resulted in my being “given” a PayPal credit account, which I IMMEDIATELY canceled. According to CreditKarma, my FICO dropped a few points with Equifax. Using CreditKarma, I was able to access Equifax and use their online dispute process. I will now just wait and see, if that process results in any changes.

There was some problem when I tried to make a transaction that literally pissed me off. So I closed the account and opened a new one assuming that it would be clean. Though I had always been frustrated with PayPal, I created that account only because that particular transaction only allows PayPal transaction. I never applied for credit or filled out any application with my SSN. Ofcourse, I did accept the terms and conditions to open the PayPal account. When I created the account, PayPal forced me to link my bank account to PayPal. I tried to check if I can delete the PayPal credit that I noticed on my PayPal account. But there were no options. I did not suspect that a credit check was run by PayPal because I did not key in my full SSN anywhere, did not fill out an application for line of credit and did not accept anything that prompted my permission to run a credit check. I had been very careful not to apply for any credit to retain good credit. When I pulled my credit report today, it showed that one of the reasons my score is low because I had applied for credit during the past year. Glad I reviewed the complaints on this page before I called. I had to login and get a six digit code to call the customer service. I called PayPal and when I asked if it is ethical for a business to pull a credit without the consent from a consumer, there was no answer. I was firmly asked to say what I want to do at this time. Close the account obviously. Then I was asked to mail or fax a request with a set of information including last four of my SSN if I want to dispute the Credit check. Per the service rep, the inquiry will be canceled if someone else applied for PayPal credit without my knowledge. In my opinion, PayPal proved to have unethical business practice and I am also going to write to BBB on this. Thanks to all those who shared the frustration and the details.

Unauthorized Credit Inquiry

I was checking my Credit Karma and noticed that under the Equifax report that there is a credit inquiry that I did not authorize. It is from CCB/PPC which I looked up and is a PayPal Credit line. So I went to my PayPal and sure enough my account shows that I have a $2000 credit limit. I never approved or requested this line of credit. I’m not sure what I need to do to get the hard inquiry off my credit and make sure the line of credit is closed without dinging my credit any more.

I just got an alert from credit karma of a credit inquiry from CCB/PPC. Don’t know who these people are but I am beyond Pissed. I am trying to rebuild my credit. After reading all these other complaints I am glad that its just not me. I didn’t even know what this could be from. Tried sending emails to Paypal but no luck. This is not right. Unauthorized Hard Credit Inquiry

I am in the process of buying a house, and was asked to verify recent credit inquiries. I came across CCB/PPC and was very confused. Come to find out, Paypal and their BillMeLater payments option, ran a hard credit check on me, WITHOUT MY APPROVAL OR SOCIAL. I do not understand how this can be legal. I am imagine it is not, and if I were to call PayPal they would probably talk me in circles. I plan on never EVER using this option again, and I am considering a malpractice suit against them. This hard credit check has affected my credit score and thus has affected my interest rate for my home. Very VERY disappointed in this company and they deception they are involved in. I will subsequently be closing my Capitol One Savings account as well for being associated with them.

Unauthorized Hard Credit Inquiry

Haven’t used my paypal in years. Found out from Equifax that CCB/PPC (Comenity Capital Bank c/o PayPal Credit) has placed a hard credit inquiry on me! Never have I EVER authorized them to run a credit check, nor have I ever applied for any of their services that require such information! They have access to my SSN, bank account info, credit card info, birth date, name, address, etc. and I can’t help but assume there must be something else going on here. Called PayPal and they told me that my “identity must’ve been stolen,” though after reading all of these, I’ve come to the conclusion that PayPal and/or PayPal Credit and/or Comenity Capital Bank have been demonstrating malpractice. This is fraud and I’m furious!

A week ago I made a purchase on ebay and of course had to use PayPal then a few days later I got an alert for 3 hard inquires on my credit report from companies I didn’t apply for credit from and one of them being CCB/PPC. I tried to dispute them with Equifax and they wouldn’t remove them. On top of all that the same day I got the alerts I saw an authorized charge from PayPal on my credit card. I tried contacting PayPal and that was a runaround plus to try to dispute it online they make you set up an account which I definitely don’t want. Luckily my credit card company reversed it without a problem but I got another alert from my credit card yesterday and had 11 fraudulent charges on my card. This has been a huge hassle and I definitely won’t be using PayPal and will for sure tell everyone I know not to use them either. Really unethical way of conducting business and shouldn’t be in business!

How can one pull ones credit without 1) authorization to do so and 2) without getting SSN to run the inquiry? As many have stated this is a huge marketing fraud scam built on deception at very least. I just got an alert from credit karma of a credit inquiry from ccb/ppc. I purchased something from eBay and used PayPal thinking it was a secure site but now it makes me wonder how secure it is. If they are tuning credit checks without your permission who knows what else they are doing with your personal information. I’m trying to rebuild my credit but at this pace I might as well give up. Inquiry On My Credit Report

I am in the process of refinancing my condo and the bank is asking about an inquiry on my credit report dated January, 2015

from ccb/ppc. I just looked it up online and saw all these complaints. If this is Paypal, please be advised that I have NEVER

Unauthorized HP Comenity/PayPal

Just got an alert that a hard pull was made on my Equifax credit report for CCB/PPC – Comenity Bank/PayPal Credit. I have a PayPal account but have not used it in about 5 years. I have no idea why this happened. It caused a drop in my score and I am furious. It is obvious from reading over all these posts that I am not the only one this has happened to. Wth is going on? If this is some sort of trick by PayPal, they need to be stopped. Stopped and sued for damages. I work my tail off to keep my score up and they get to just come in, pull my credit and dent my score?

PayPal Credit – CCB/PPC

Absolutely horrible! Found a hard check on my credit report from CCB/PPC. I never intentionally opened a PayPal Credit account, just thought I had used my usual PayPal to pay for a small item. I’m pretty capable of reading, and at no point do I remember reading anything saying I was opening a PayPal Credit account, or a disclaimer I had to read and check in order to open such an account to pay for my small purchase. Obviously they have specifically coded, programmed and displayed a checkout page to trick people into opening a PayPal Credit account. I called to cancel the account immediately, to be told I still owed the small transaction I apprently made on the account. I was not allowed to use any other credit card or EVEN my regular PayPal account to settle the debt. Only allowed to use my checking account routing number or receive a hard copy bill. Not the kind of information I like to give out. Isn’t that the whole purpose of PayPal? Exceedingly poor customer service, border line fraud practices and they have completely lost any and all of my future business, from today to the end of time.

Pay Pal Credit

Me too! I simply bought something from eBay, which requires you to use PayPal. Then all of the sudden, I have a credit account opened with PayPal. I didn’t want this line credit. But was tricked into it. Very deceptive.

 

I’ve already been skeptical of using PayPal every time I buy something through eBay, because they use your bank account as your default payment, and not your credit card. You have less protection this way. But PayPal is required when purchasing off eBay.

 

Now I have completely lost all trust in eBay and PayPal for such deception. I’ve made a complaint with BBB and will continue making phone calls to PayPal to get this account remove. Hope others have luck with this.

CCB/PPC – BEWARE of PayPal opening credit lines upon signup

PayPal run the hard credit inquiry the same day I opened my PayPal account. They claim I applied for a credit line with them, which was declined – I have no recollection of this ever happening not to mention that I haven’t received any e-mails about it into the mailbox associated with that application. The call centre supervisor Mary (badge number 1319818) advised me that I must have “inadvertently” selected one of the credit lines during the sign up process. Another PayPal employee, Steve, told me that “it happens very often” because PayPal and PayPalCredit logos look very similar… This is clearly a case of an abusive marketing strategy and this company has no respect for its customers. I am closing my PayPal account today and will never do business with them again.

Refusal to add to Credit Karma but they can run credit

It makes it look bad on your credit as a hard inquiry and they don’t report or allow you to add to credit Karma so it looks like you were denied whether you were or not. I have contacted PayPal and Credit Karma and was told that Paypal won’t allow it. Paypal told me that they don’t report to credit bureaus then why run my credit as a hard inquiry. That looks bad on me when I was approved and pay on time or early and keep a tiny balance if that. That would make my credit look better. I think it’s totally unfair to make a hard inquiry and not report whether you were approved or not. Many people like me are trying to rebuild their credit. For years I had no credit because I paid cash for everything I bought and then decided I wanted to build my credit and I’m finding PayPal Credit is making it worse when it should be making it better.

Unauthorized application

Due to the PAYPAL credit (small letters) I went to check out from my account and seeing PAYPAL I hit the button thinking that I was using my paypal account attached to my business banking. 24hrs later I have hard inquiries on all 3 credit reports.

A box shows up saying I’m denied? For what I just wanted to pay for my goods. I filed out NO information. I just accidently hit the wrong button.

 

I am positive that this is now happening accidentally by the thousands on a daily basis and thousands are having lowered credit scores because of unclear marketing. I do not have good vision. A large PAYPAL button would indicate Pay with PAYPAL!

 

I called your center and was told to dispute all 3 bureaus. I don’t have time to immediately dispute the bureaus when I am going for a business loan next week. The onus should not be on me anyway. You report it, you can report a mistake. I never filled out or authorized any forms, this is illegal.

 

I have sent a formal complaint to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Bureau of Consumer Protection.

The transgressions of complaint are: 1. Misleading marketing, Affecting PAYPAL consumer purchaser’s being visually confused and clicking on PAYPAL credit button. 2. Conducting a credit check without my consent

Comenity Capital Bank c/o Pay Pal Credit

I received a notice that from Trans Union that a request had been made for a Pay Pal account. I never applied for the card. My information was given, as a report was sent to CCB/PPC (which is Comenity Capital Bank c/o Pay Pal Credit.) is I think fraud has been committed and am worried about identity theft..

 

The letter from Trans Union said,

We regret that we are unable to approve you for the service at this time for the following reason:

“Your information was incomplete or inaccurate o the circumstances may have suggested that the purchase was not made by you.”

Paypal credit

Paypal is using a switch tactic. I have been a Paypal customer for years and at this point. I thought i could continue to use the service. What has happened to me is, I attempted to make a purchase using their service via the account I have for plane tickets. I had no idea instead of the default credit card that I used they had switched me to a Paypal credit card that i did not need or want. I had no idea this was happening except that I received a notification via equifax. Why would they do this and ruin the reputation and trust that I had in the company.

 

I have sent them an email since they are closed at this time. I am hoping to rectify this in the morning when I speak with Paypal.
